First, I should say that I wasn't taken with the sound of the system using the R-3s at the show, but at the same time I look forward to listening to them in a proper setup, hopefully with the new R-4 subs, which really weren't talked about much at the show. As for MA-1 Mk II.2s driving M-2s beyond 90 dB in your room with ample headroom, you could probably do it but I think it might be pushing them. My experience with MA-1 Mk I (12 tube version) amps driving my U-1s was satisfactory, but I was always careful with the volume. The Wolcotts can play loud with more control, as can MA-2s.

You didn't say where you live. If you're in the midwest, I'm in the Chicago area and you're most welcome to come by for a listen.
