Roy,

Thanks a bunch for your thoughtful insights!! I've already had an example of the different presentation between the MA-1's and the Wolcotts on the Quadratures. I was thinking that the Wolcotts would be the hot setup whether I kept the Quadratures or not. I had it in the back of my mind to try Soundlabs or MG-20's and thought the Wolcotts would be great on both of those as well. I reluctantly had to agree with my wife that the MA-1's sounded superior to the Wolcotts on the Quadratures but the marriage of Wolcotts and Soundlabs seems to be one made in heaven. The Wolcotts that I owned briefly did not have the upgraded transformers. I spoke with Henry Wolcott and he indicated that my pair had all the other available options but the original owner did not want the upgraded transformers. Never could figure that one out. I was using the factory tubes and Albert Porter had indicated that I would need to replace all the tubes in order to hear the Wolcotts at their best. That kind of rubbed me the wrong way as it didn't sit right with me that one would need to swap tubes out of a new product to get it to sound its best. I've yet to hear of anyone that has heard the Wolcott/Soundlab combo that didn't like it. Things are looking good for a quick trip to NO and Duke's in two weeks. I'm anxious to hear Soundlabs properly setup and driven by both the Wolcotts and Atma-spheres. Thanks again for sharing your experiences.
