I noticed Al's only treatment recommendation with the S/L's was at the focal points. I have built Jon Risch (AudioAsylum.com) panels (6'h x 3'w), and through trial and error, placed them in the corners behind my M1's and as suggested by Al, have had good results. My M1's are about 5-6' from the back wall. I have no further acoustic materials in the room --i.e., at the mirror points on the side walls -- perhaps, would some be in order?
The question of placing racks et al. between speakers has interested me. Some advise against it, others see no harm. Because you mentioned that this was a problem with the Maggies, but didn't mention so with the S/L's, can I assume that racks in the center and amps.on the floor behind, but between the S/L's are Ok? That's where my 30" stand and amps reside. Might it behove me to place these items elsewhere or leave as is?
Trying to reposition amps, and a rack in my smallish room, even for testing purposes, would be difficult, so your comments are welcomed......
