I'm running an Aesthetix Calisto driven by an Audio Note DAC 4.1 Signature with 1 meter interconnetcs between the DAC and pre and 2 meter between the preamp and amp.
The panels have gone back once and so have the back plates. The panel return process involves lugging two 8' X 4' X 2' boxes up from the basement, disassembling the speakers, repacking the panels, getting a BAX pick-up scheduled and missing work to meet it, being without the speakers for weeks and then renting a truck and going to Delta Air freight at Boston Logan to pick them up when they finally come back. Then reverse the process to get them put back up and running and for all I know they will be the same when they get back. Never mind the hundreds of dollars in return shipping costs. I've had to do with the panels once already because the ones I was originally delivered were defective out of the box and do the same with the back plates so I'm not too eager to do it unless there is an improvement to be had.
I have the same basic set-up except for front-ends as Albert Porter, so thats why I've had him checking his set up before I do all of this s*it again. Frankly I've got better things to do - I'm running a medical start-up and commuting 120 miles a day so this is a hassle I don't have time for.
The things sound great, it's just they can't play particularly loud in my set-up and I've gone through this ship and return cycle of various speaker parts twice in little over a year of ownership....believe me, it gets old pretty quickly.
