With respect to Christopher Stubbs comments: I would think this improvement/modification would be welcome with open arms. This is League Changing. Until you listen with your own ears you are not making intellegent comments stating “The power of suggestion, especially in the field of audio components, is remarkably high”. I must point out the math error stated above. It is true the bias voltage is around 15KV. The area of distortion and coloration occurs between the Stators and the AC Ripple. The stators swing around 100 Volts AC. The ripple is 30 to 50 volts depending on the vintage. 30/100 is absolutely enouch to have an effect on what you hear. I measures this. The attached images display my findings. Constant improvement is a way of life. It is OK to make improvements especially in the High End Audio world. I am offering an opportunity for any Soundlab owner to try this modification, listen with your own ears, then present your opinion.
